How to pin apps to the Taskbar or Start in Windows 10
Hope you enjoy this tutorial! SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE! - Music Used in the Background: MiTis - Framework. Sep 19, 2019 Some apps give the option to remove icons from the top bar on Mac in their settings: chosen app Preferences. However, a lot of apps won’t. However, a lot of apps won’t. To fully customize which icons appear in the menu bar, you should use a third-party app like Bartender.
We are back again with another tutorial for new users of Windows 10.
This time it is a rather simple, yet important one.
One of the main features in Windows 10, is the Start Menu. Thought it is not entirely the same as the one in Windows 7, it is a welcome addition to Windows 10, after being infamously removed from Windows 8 and the dreaded Metro UI.
The Start Menu consists of two parts, as we have already seen in many different articles, especially this one. If you don’t like the Start Menu, you can switch to one of our suggested alternative Start Menu apps.
If you do like the Start Menu, and wish to know how to pin apps to the Live Tile section of it, or on to the Taskbar read on.
Every Windows user, will have a few favorite apps, which he/she will use everyday. For ease of access, you might have placed a shortcut to your favorite app on the desktop. But, what happens if you have dozens of favorite apps? Placing shortcuts for every app will make your desktop screen, look like a cluttered mess of icons, which in turn will make finding the app you want to open a tiresome task.
There is a simple solution to avoid this mess, and also keep your favorite apps, just one click away. All you have to do is pin some of your apps to the taskbar, and some other apps to the Start Menu (Tiles). This will reduce the number of icons on your desktop, and also give a boost to your multitasking capability.
For quick multitasking, I recommend categorizing apps into three different sets.
1. Icons on the desktop – for everyday apps as well as games.
2. Pinned icons on the taskbar – for internet and basic function apps like browser, email, notepad, Windows Store, etc.
3. Live Tiles in the Start Screen- as a backup for quickly opening apps, which you may need once in a while.
